Jana Pálková

She graduated in Psychology and French language and holds postgraduate degree Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) focused on European Cultural Studies at Matej Bel University in Banská Bystrica where she started her career. Within her lectures, publications, and international projects she dedicated to the topics such as foreign languages, cultural expressions, and European identities. In parallel, she worked in the European Commission, DG Research and Innovation, as an Evaluation Expert for FP7 project proposals. She co-founded the successful project of the Early Intervention Centre in Banská Bystrica. Later, she worked as a Head of the Education Department, Training and PR at the Slovak Environment Agency, from where she moved to the private sector to become a Head of International Business Development. From 2019 she worked at the Banská Bystrica Self-governing Region’s Office as the Main Project Manager of the Catching-Up Regions Initiative. Since 2022 she has been working as a Managing Director of the Development Agency of Banská Bystrica Self-Governing Region, non-profit organization and as a leader of research & development & innovation.
