Matej Búřil

Matej Búřil is a Head of Technology Transfer Centre Legal Department of Masaryk University. He is responsible for technology transfer, coordinating legal matters related to intellectual property, legal services, intellectual property contracts of Masaryk University including spin-off companies establishing and related agenda. In November 2020 he was appointed as a leader of the Legal working group of Transfera.cz society that brings together transfer workplaces of Czech scientific-research institutions. Since October 2021 he is a member of the supervisory board of JIC Ventures s.r.o., subsidy of South Moravian Innovation Centre (JIC) which focuses on investment to start-up companies in South Moravian region.

Matej Búřil received master’s degree at Faculty of Law of Masaryk University as well as master’s degree in Political Science study programme (field Security and Strategic Studies) at Faculty of Social Studies. He is working at in-house lawyer positions focused on contractual agenda, compliance and corporate law. After graduating he worked in food and health industry, since 2013 was employed by St. Anne´s University Hospital in Brno, firstly as a head of legal section and later as a head of whole legal department. He actively participated in project OP VaVpI launched by International Clinical Research Centre of St. Anne´s University Hospital in Brno, especially in legal support of scientific research teams. Since 2020 he is working for Masaryk University.
