Ing. Miroslav Havlík is director of Evonik Fermas s.r.o. in Slovenská Ľupča, at present a “scale up and launch” platform in biotechnologies.
He graduated from the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering of the Slovak University of Technology in Bratislava, specialising in chemical and food machinery and equipment. After graduating he joined Biotika in Slovenská Ľupča as a design engineer, and in 1992 he became the technical and production director of the newly established company Fermas, as a joint venture of Biotika a.s. and Degussa AG, a German company. The company later became part of the Evonik Industries AG concern and was renamed as the current Evonik Fermas s.r.o.
Miroslav Havlík remains a member of Evonik Fermas’ management and, thanks to the innovation and flexibility of the entire team of approximately of 230 employees, Evonik Fermas has become a “scale up and launch platform” for the whole group. Evonik Fermas is in the process of transformation from “commodities” to “specialities” with its competences changing from the original production programme (amino acids for feed production) towards Contract Development and Manufacturing Organisation (CDMO) projects for the pharmaceutical, food, cosmetics and medical industries.
„It is very important to have a good team, well-qualified employees have to receive possibility for professional growth. I believe that the most stable employee for company is the one who works own way up in its internal environment.”
