Matúš Medvec studied law at Comenius University in Bratislava, management (MBA) at the University of Staffordshire, and also completed a study-stay at the Sorbonne in Paris. During his studies as well as in practice, he focused on several areas of law and its connection with finance and management. He began his professional career in a law firm, where he also worked in intellectual property law, and later worked for the Central Bank and the Bank for International Settlements in Basel. In addition, he taught at the University of Economics in Bratislava and Comenius University in Bratislava. He is currently the President of the Industrial Property Office of the Slovak Republic.
