Lukrécia Marčoková graduated in 1992 from the Faculty of Chemistry and Food Technology of the Slovak University of Technology in Bratislava, specialising in organic production technology. After graduation, she worked in various positions in Slovakofarma, a. s. Hlohovec and Biotika, a. s. pharmaceutical companies. In 1998, she joined the Industrial Property Office of the Slovak Republic in Banská Bystrica and worked as a patent expert in organic chemistry and pharmacy. Subsequently (from 1999 to March 2004), she headed the Department for the Examination of Patent Applications and Utility Models in chemistry and pharmacy. In March 2004 she was appointed director of the Patents Department.
