MVDr. Ladislav Strojný, PhD. graduated from the University of Veterinary Medicine in Košice in General Veterinary Medicine in 1983. In 1999, he obtained his Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine at the University of Veterinary Medicine in Košice, and his PhD degree with the dissertation: Molecular-genetic detection of bovine herpes virus in livestock. Since 2006 he has headed the Department of Microbiology at the Faculty of Medicine of Pavol Jozef Šafárik University in Košice. He conducts research into the health-beneficial bacteria – lactobacilli of milk fermentation with probiotic effects and their applications to human medicine.
