Mgr. Jozef Viskupič studied history and philosophy in Bratislava and mass media communication in Trnava. In the past, he worked as a project manager, organised concerts and cultural events, and also collaborated in the restoration of the Trnava Amphitheatre. He is the author of a project of a network of internet cafes, he founded a regional publisher and later the political OĽaNO party. In 2010 – 2017 he was a member of the National Council of the Slovak Republic. He dealt with topics of culture, media, public administration, electronic state services or European policy. Since December 2017 he has headed the Trnava self-governing region. After his election to this position, he stood down as an MP. From March 2018 he has chaired the SK 8, an association of self-governing regions.
