Alexandra Gačevičová studied international relations and political science at Leiden University in the Netherlands (MSc.) and Matej Bel University in Banská Bystrica (Bc.).
She has worked in both the private and public sectors. Among other things, she completed a study stay at the European Parliament in Brussels, worked for two years as an economics and business consultant at the Embassy of the Slovak Republic in The Hague and managed two language schools in Slovakia.
Since 2018 she has been working for the Slovak Agency for Investment and Trade Development (SARIO), currently in the position of manager for research and technology transfer. She created and has led the Practice for Universities, Solutions for Business project since 2019. Within the framework of this project, 67 networks have been established between companies and faculties resulting in 167 specific proposals for joint research and development projects, diploma works from practice or study-stays. In addition, she provides assistance to investors in finding a suitable location for their investment plan and connects them with local actors such as local governments, universities, developers, etc.
SARIO is a state organisation operating under the Ministry of the Economy of the Slovak Republic. The mission of the agency is to attract high-value-added investments to Slovakia and contribute to the regional development of the country. SARIO also supports Slovak companies and helps them penetrate global markets.
