We looked closely at „white spaces“ in innovations and technology transfer and also awarded innovations and innovators

On October 24th and 25th   took place already fourth year of the biggest professional conference on technology transfer in Slovakia – COINTT 2023. Prestigious event included also gala evening where the best innovators, innovations and achievements in technology transfer in Slovak public and state scientific research institutions were awarded.

Current edition of the professional conference focused on white spaces in innovations and technology transfer in Slovakia. They are significant issue that should be discussed to continually improve conditions for effective technology transfer in Slovakia from academic environment to practice.

Winners of the eleventh edition of Prize for Technology Transfer in Slovakia were announced as well.

Professional selection board has chosen three winners from nominations sent by representatives of Slovak public and state scientific research institutions in three categories from April 1st till August 31st, 2023 – INNOVATION, INNOVATOR, ACHIEVEMENT IN TECHNOLOGY TRANSFER

In INNOVATION category Michal Kardoš, Executive Director of Slovak Alliance for Innovative Economy (SAPIE) awarded prof. MUDr. Viliam Donič, CSc. and doc. MUDr. Pavol Török, CSc. that represented collective of inventors from Pavol Jozef Šafárik University in Košice with innovation: „Device for artificial lung ventilation with identification of inhomogeneity of gas distribution and method of operating the device during artificial lung ventilation. “

Winner of the category INNOVATOR became Ing. Nikola Čajová Kantová, PhD. from university of Žilina in Žilina engaged in research on fuel analysis and reducing emissions mainly from particulates in small heat generators. She received statuette designed by talented authors from MEJD studio and diploma from Ján Solík, president of Entrepreneurs Association of Slovakia.

„Successful technology transfer: Method for Non-Invasive Testing of Success of In Vitro Fertilization Process“ to practice realized via transfer of rights“ performed by representatives of Technology and Innovation Park of Pavol Jozef Šafárik University in Košice with its Technology Transfer Office, Comenius University Science Park in Bratislava with its Technology Transfer Office as well as Technology Transfer Office of Masaryk University in Brno became winners of ACHIEVEMENT IN TECHNOLOGY TRANSFER category. Representatives of awarded universities received statuette and diploma from Advisor to the President of the Slovak Republic, Michal Novota. The COINTT 2023 was organized by Technology Transfer Office of Slovak Centre of Scientific and Technical Information (SCSTI). Co-organizers of the event were Slovak Alliance for Innovative Economy (SAPIE), Entrepreneurs Association of Slovakia (ZPS) and National Technology Transfer Centre (NCTT SR) that gathers seven public universities, Slovak Academy of Science and Slovak Centre of Scientific and Technical Information with a goal to support and systematize of technology transfer in Slovakia.
